Buying Vintage

CONDITION OF ITEMS

By their nature vintage items are second hand, so are rarely perfect. All items we sell we consider to be in wearable / useable condition. We will always photograph and point out any flaws. We will be happy to help with any queries re condition, either by email or telephone.

Description and Condition guide:

1. EXCELLENT :

In our opinion, has not been worn. - Mint condition.

2. DEAD STOCK :

Never been worn and has original labels and may be in original packaging These items will not be unpacked or washed as it would compromise their originality, therefore they may be fusty or marked from being stored for a long time.

3. VERY GOOD :

Worn, with minimal signs of wear.

4. GOOD :

Will show signs of wear possibly needing repair.

5. POOR :

Not fit for wear, but a useful item for research or display.

MEASURING:

Vintage clothes are ‘one offs’ and a “Vintage Size” does not correspond to a modern size. We will therefore measure and provide the actual size of any garment in inches, you will then need to decide if that is adequate to allow for fit and comfort.

We will measure:
•    Bust
•    Waist
•    Hips
•    Width straight across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
•    Length of under arm seam
•    Length of garment from top of collar down the middle back to hem
•    Inside leg

If you require any further measurements please do let us know.
